Care and maintenance

TIPS FOR THE CARE AND INSTALLATION OF THE PRODUCT.

Make it look beautiful always!

Handmade product: the color, size and/or motifs may have slight variations. The patina due to oxidation of the metal can vary with the humidity of the environment; enriching the beauty of this work. Avoid handling it with sweaty hands or with substances that react with copper. Gloves are recommended for handling and installation. Next, apply wax as described in PATINA and WAXING of this section.

The buyer must install the mirrors on the wall, choosing the support system, as well as the number of screws or nails suitable for the weight of the mirror. Take care that the head of the nail or screw is well hooked in the slot or hanger of the frame.

The handling of mirrors greater than one meter must be handled by several people and using the gloves and safety measures that protect them.

The Photo Frames have been designed so as not to have parts to disassemble when placing the photograph, they have an upper slot through which both the glass and the photo slide. Be careful to support the glass so it doesn't fall and break when you turn it upside down.

CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS:

The mirror glass is easily cleaned by hand with a damp soft cloth or microfiber.
Regular cleaning of Copper and Silver:
Once the piece is installed, to lubricate the patina: apply a little wax with a soft cloth and rub with a clean cloth to remove the excess and lubricate the patina. This will be the only thing required to keep your work from our firm “Claudia y Julio” beautiful.

Eventual cleaning of copper and silver.
If after a long time you need to polish the reliefs, use the attached "cleaning cloth". First, rub vigorously on the non-logo side of the fabric, which is soaked in metal-cleaning chemical. Then polish by rubbing on the other side of the fabric. With a soft cloth, apply a little wax and remove the excess by rubbing with another clean cloth.
If you need to brighten the reliefs, you can use a little "Silvo" or "Brasso" metal cleaner to clean the protruding parts of the relief that have darkened. Be careful not to remove the dark patina from the rest of the frame. Follow the product directions on the metal cleaner container. At the end apply the wax as indicated here.

These instructions for Copper and Silver apply to mirror frames, Boxes, Chests, Picture Frames, crosses and figured plaques.

Skin parts care:
For Genuine Leather lined parts on picture frames, boxes and backs on figures and crosses, it is recommended to simply use a soft bristle brush. You can also apply a bit of the same wax, used for copper and silver, then brush.

PATINA and WAX:

The dark patina of copper has been provided to the metal by means of oxidation. It is the result that provides a retro appearance, which is similar to the exposure of the metal for many years to the environment. It gives a tonal richness, which enhances the shine of the polished high-reliefs of the metal.

Apply a little wax with a soft cloth and with another clean one, rub to remove the excess and lubricate the patina, since the piece is installed. It is the natural sealing process, which hardens and thickens the patina, during the first wet seasons to which it is exposed. When lighter coloration appears in a single area, repeat this waxing process to seal in the patina and form a pleasing natural grain.
